WWE News: WWE Superstars talk to Trenton kids about anti-bullying
WWE Superstars, Becky Lynch, Kalisto, Natalya and Apollo Crews, made their way to the Trenton Clubhouse and interacted with a group of Trenton youth, explaining the ills of bullying. The four superstars had a long session with Boys & Girls Clubs of Mercer County, as part of WWE’s anti-bullying, Be A Star, campaign.
SmackDown Live Women’s Champion Becky Lynch placed the SmackDown Women’s Championship into the hands of a 6-year-old girl. She revealed some startling facts about bullying saying that she too was often bullied during her formative years.
“Nothing is going to take away a smile from your face quicker than bullying. Has anybody here experienced that? I know I have. I used to get bullied when I was a kid, I reached out. I told my brother. I told my parents. And they were able to do something about it.”
Becky confessed that she would often be the victim of taunts for various reasons, including her accent. She reaffirmed the fact that children did not have to suffer in silence, from constant bullying and implored them to reach out to people who will help.
The other superstars also gave their inputs on the social evils of bullying. Apollo Crews confessed that he had been a victim of bullying attacks, cyber bullying in particular. He struck a chord with the young audience present there when he revealed that he had been bullied physically and verbally as well.
The children could relate to the incidents and felt empowered when Crews told them to stand up against bullies.
Natalya too revealed her troubles growing up in Canada as she would often be bullied. She said:
“I grew up and I was bullied throughout my elementary school years; I was bullied in high school; I have even been bullied as an adult. When I was a kid, you know, I wished I had somebody that would step in and say, ‘Hey, don’t treat Natalie like that.’ And I didn’t always have that.”
WWE Superstar Kalisto shared how the WWE business works with the kids. He compared the high flying moves inside the WWE ring to the sequence of an action movie. He reiterated the fact that they were trained professionals and that was their job.
Kalisto proved his point when he said that all the bumps that they took or all the stunts that they pulled off inside the ring was for the love of the business and to bring smiles on the faces of the viewers.
