WWE News: WWE Universal Champion sets his eyes on Shawn Michaels
Another WWE Superstar has thrown his name into the mix to take on Shawn Michaels.
After AJ Styles and Seth Rollins, it is the WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens who apparently wants to take on the Heartbreak Kid in a potential match, should Michaels decide to come out of retirement.
Owens took on Twitter to respond to a tweet that a fan posted, thanking WWE for the HBK action figures they sent him after he lost his entire collection a couple of years ago. The fan was grateful to receive a HBK figurine along with that of Rollins, who he claimed was his new favourite after Michaels.
The Architect expressed his gratitude on being put in the same league as that of Shawn Michaels. This instigated KO to diss Rollins and the fan, in pure heel fashion, and also throw his name into the hat to take on HBK.
Check out series of tweets to find how the entire episode unfolded.
Well thank you good sir. Decent company with HBK too. A man of good taste you are! https://t.co/kQbz3lQhyh

What a sickening tweet. The only correct choice for "new fav" as you put it is myself. I'm this generation's HBK too so it just makes sense! https://t.co/e0qSe89FqI

Back in October, WWE Champions AJ Styles posted a picture of him facing Michaels, as he teased a match against HBK at Royal Rumble, which is being held at Alamodome, St. Antonio, Texas, the hometown of the WWE Hall of Famer.
Rollins was quick to follow Styles as he claimed that he is willing to take on The Phenomenal One, to decide who gets to face HBK, should he come out of retirement.
Even though KO initially teased Styles for the promo picture, he has now thrown his name in the hat and has become the latest superstar to join the ‘HBK coming out of retirement’ bandwagon.
While Michaels has stuck to his stance of respecting his retirement stipulation, one of these men might inspire HBK to pick up his boots once again and bless us with a humungous return.
