WWE News: X-Pac was arrested for carrying meth and weed

Pro-wrestling veteran X-Pac (Right) has been arrested for allegedly carrying weed and meth.

What’s the story?

Former WWE Superstar and veteran pro-wrestler X-Pac has reportedly been arrested at LAX for allegedly trying to smuggle methamphetamine and marijuana through customs.

In case you didn’t know...

X-Pac (Sean Waltman) gained notoriety in the sport of professional wrestling during his time as a member of D-Generation X in the WWE. The 44-year old has been extremely vocal about his struggles with substance abuse, revealing several details regarding the same to the media in the past.

The heart of the matter

X-Pac’s real-life former girlfriend Chyna (Joanie Laurer) passed away last year owing to an accidental drug overdose after a long battle with substance abuse. X-Pac himself has had a severe drug problem in the past and revealed to ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin that he “got real bad” on crystal meth when he first moved to L.A.

According to reports by TMZ, X-Pac was at the Los Angeles International Airport on the way to a wrestling event in the United Kingdom, when he was stopped at Customs, and the airport officials discovered the drugs. He was arrested by the airport police on the spot, following which he was transported to a nearby jail, and was booked for possession of a controlled substance.

Furthermore, officials chanced upon another outstanding warrant against Waltman in relation to a prior DUI arrest. Bail was set at $35 thousand and X-Pac has since been released.

What’s next?

X-Pac’s representative had been contacted by TMZ, who is said to have stated that the veteran wrestling star is “fine”. More details will be revealed over the next few days as the story unfolds.

Author’s take

Given the fact that the professional wrestling world has had a long and twisted relationship with substance abuse/recreational drug addiction; as a fan, I can’t help but pray that Sean Waltman recovers from this unfortunate incident.

It’s not known, as of now, whether he’d been using the drugs for himself or intended to sell them, but regardless, at the end of the day, he’s a family man. Let’s hope X-Pac turns things around and solves what appears to be yet another legal issue that he’s gotten himself into.
