WWE News: Xavier Woods hints at future plans for Kofi Kingston and The New Day in 2019
What's the story?
It is no secret that Big E and Xavier Woods have made it their mission in life to make sure that Kofi Kingston holds the WWE Championship.
At WWE Elimination Chamber 2019, that mission was almost fulfilled, as Kofi Kingston was seconds away from winning the WWE Championship after almost beating Daniel Bryan several times.
In case you didn't know...
Kofi Kingston in the last week has proved himself to be immensely capable.
Kingston, a veteran of WWE for the past 11 years, has performed at the mid-card level for the better part of his career. Despite being incredibly talented, Kingston has not come close to winning the WWE Championship -- until now.
After an incredible performance at WWE RAW in the Gauntlet Match and at WWE Elimination Chamber he pushed the boundary of each and every Superstar.
He outlasted 4 other WWE Superstars and was the last one in the ring with Daniel Bryan. Unfortunately, he was not able to outlast Bryan, and despite putting in an incredible performance, came up short.
The heart of the matter
Xavier Woods, who often acts as the spokesperson of The New Day, took to Instagram recently to reveal the plans the faction has for 2019.
He said that their goals were to hold the WWE Championship and the Tag Team Championship together before the end of the year.
His hashtags hinted at the matchup The New Day wants at WrestleMania, with 'Kofi vs Bryan' and 'WrestleMania'.
The New Day have revealed that they plan to never break up as a team. Given the success they have found together as a team, that's understandable.
What's next?
New Day might end up holding each Championship they plan to before 2019 is over. The sort of booking Kofi Kingston has received of late means that he could very well end up at WrestleMania 35 fighting for the WWE Championship.
