The new era of the Bullet Club has been running wild

What's the story?

During tonight's NJPW: World Tag League show in Osaka, Japan, current IWGP Tag Team Champions, The Guerillas of Destiny paid homage to their former Bullet Club stablemates and current WWE superstars, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows.

In case you didn't know...

Prior to their arrival to the WWE in 2016, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were part of the popular and legendary Japanese faction, the Bullet Club, alongside the likes of Tama Tonga, Bad Luck Fale, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega, and faction originator Finn Balor.

During their stint with NJPW and Bullet Club, Anderson and Gallows represented the heavyweight tag team division of the Biz Cliz and won the IWGP Tag Team Championships on three different occasions, however, following their departure from the group in 2016, the duo of Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa became the main heavyweight tag team of the BC.

The Guerillas of Destiny are also currently enjoying their record fourth reign as IWGP Tag Team Champions, having regained the gold earlier this year in a classic showdown against The Young Bucks at NJPW: Fighting Spirit Unleashed.

The heart of the matter

Sitting comfortably at the top of the current World Tag League standings with 14 points on board alongside the team of Los Ingobernables de Japon and Tomohiro Ishii & Toru Yano (who also have the similar amount of points on board), The Guerillas of Destiny could very well make history by the end of this month by qualifying for the WTL Finals for the third year in a row. And let's not forget the fact that GoD has been dismantling almost every single team that has stepped foot in their path to victory this year at the WTL.

At tonight's WTL show in Osaka, The Guerillas wiped out yet another menacing threat in the form of the Suzuki Gun team of Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi and on their course to victory, Tama and Loa also decided to hit one of the most popular tag team moves' of all time, The Magic Killer.

The Magic Killer, as you would know, was obviously made famous by Anderson and Gallows during their time in NJPW and the duo currently also uses it as their finishing maneuver in the WWE. New Japan tag teams such as GoD and LIJ (Sanada and Evil) have also been paying homage to The Good Brothers by using The Magic Killer ever since their departure from the promotion two years ago.

Furthermore, Tama Tonga also gave a shoutout to Gallows and Guns on Twitter moments after finishing his match tonight in Osaka.

What's next?

Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa are currently sitting with 14 points on board and their next match in this year's World Tag League is going to be against the team of Yuji Nagata and Manabu Nakanishi.
