WWE NXT 4 May, 2016 Results : Eric Young debuts against Samoa Joe
WWE NXT TV Results for May 4, 2016
Venue: Full Sail University in Winter Park, FL
* Right off the bat, at the start of the show, The new NXT Heavyweight Champion ‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe came out to address the crowd and gloat about being the newly crowned Champion saying if anyone wants a shot at the title, they can come get it.
Then, immediately an unusual music played which brought out, to everyone’s surprise, ‘The World Class Maniac’, former TNA World Champion Eric Young. He received a huge ovation from the NXT Universe and ‘holy s--t’ and ‘EY’ chants echoed in the NXT Arena.
Eric Young said that he knows who Joe is, and he got in Joe’s face. Joe being smart, wanted nothing to do with EY, left the ring but, delivered a parting message saying that Young doesn't deserve to be in the same ring with him, and the next time he is, he'll beat EY down.
Nia Jax vs. Tessa Blanchard
Jax picked up and tossed Tessa around like a rag doll. Nia squashed Tessa in about a minute and a half after hitting a Samoan drop followed by a leg drop for an easy win.
Official Result: Nia Jax def. Tessa Blanchard via pinfall
‘The Greatest Man That Ever Lived’ Austin Aries vs. ‘The Perfect 10’ Tye Dillinger
Aries started out the match with a couple of arm drags, but got tossed into the turnbuckles hard by Tye, which only got a two count for The Perfect 10. Aries rolled through an Irish whip and clotheslined Dillinger before an enziguri and a slingshot senton sent Tye outside the ring. Aries followed up his offense with a corkscrew plancha and a roped neckbreaker.
Dillinger caught Aries with a boot to the face and a fireman's carry neckbreaker that almost got him the victory. He removed the knee pad to set up Aries for the finishing move, but walked right into a roaring elbow instead. Aries finished the job with a sweet 450 Splash for the pinfall victory.
Official Result: Austin Aries def. Tye Dillinger via pinfall
The Hype Bros. (Ryder/Rawley) vs. The Revival (Dash/Dawson)
Right off the bell, Zack Daddy got isolated and worked over in the corner of Dash and Dawson. Ryder countered a bulldog attempt from Dash and got to Mojo Rawley for the tag. Rawley ran berserk and knocked off Dawson off the ring apron and pounced on Dash. But, Dawson got a blind tag and Dash and Dawson hit the Shatter Machine on Mojo for the win.
Official Result: The Revival def. The Hype Bros. via pinfall
- Alex Riley is backstage and says Nakamura is half his size and 1/10th as strong, and he's going to get punched in the face by a raging lunatic on the loose....because it's time to RAGE.
RAGE RILEY RAGE!
So it was announced that next week on WWE NXT, ‘The King of Strong Style’ Shinsuke Nakamura will face Alex Riley in singles action.
No Way Jose vs. Noah Kekoa
Jose gets a great reaction from the NXT Universe. Jose danced (A LOT) through some chain wrestling. Noah got some offense here and there that only pissed Jose off, who in turn, hit a flurry of chops and a baseball punch on Noah’s face. Jose hit a full nelson slam on Noah for the victory.
Official Result: No Way Jose def. Noah Kekoa via pinfall
- Next we head backstage, where we see Austin Aries telling Cathy Kelley how nice she looks and bragged about his win over Dillinger earlier in the night. He said he's flying under the radar and people don't know what to make of him. Then, he says that standing out will take a little more initiative.
‘The Samoan Submission Machine’ Samoa Joe vs. ‘The World Class Maniac’ Eric Young
Both men landed strikes on one another until a dropkick and a neckbreaker just got a one count for EY. Joe tossed Young out of the ring and hit a ‘Tope Suicida’ as we headed to a commercial. We came back to see EY fighting back, only to be thrown and crushed into corner followed by an enziguri by Joe.
Joe catches EY with a senton, but Young tries to fight back, before Joe hits him with a huge back body drop. Joe runs right through EY and beats him down in the corner, but Young flips over the turnbuckle and follows up with a clothesline on Joe.
A suplex from Eric Young only gets him a two count, but Joe avoided the piledriver attempt and countered Young with a sick urange suplex and endless strikes. Joe ends EY’s misery by hitting a Muscle Buster and locking him in the Coquina Clutch to pick up the victory by making EY tap out. Joe refused to release the lock until EY passed out cold.
