WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Controversial legend mentioned; champion pinned; Shawn Michaels breaks rule
We saw Hank Walker and Tank Ledger breaking into the Performance Center like they were in a movie and hit a switch that kicked off Night 1 of the WWE NXT Great American Bash.
We headed for the first match of the night for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship as the Unholy Union made their entrance.

WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Unholy Union (c) vs. Meta-Four - WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match
The champs attacked Meta Four before the match, and once they were in the ring, Alba Fyre and Jakara Jackson kicked off the match. Jackson was isolated by the champs early on as Fyre and Isla Dawn hot-tagged in and out to keep the pressure on.
Lash Legend was tagged in and assisted Jackson with a dive to the outside on the champs before we headed for a break. Back on NXT, Legend got a near-fall before taking a big Senton.
Jackson broke up a pin attempt before Dawn got a big Meteora at ringside. In the ring, the champs hit the Gory Bomb/reverse STO combo on Jackson for the win.
Result: Unholy Union def. Meta-Four to retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship
Grade: B
Ethan Page showed up after the match and mocked Meta-Four before going for a cheap shot on Oro Mensah.
Mensah turned it around and, with some help from his teammates, got another pin on the NXT Champ.
Brooks Jensen and Cedric Alexander set up a match for later tonight before we saw Hank and Tank interviewing Tavion Heights and Tony D'Angelo before their Heritage Cup match.
Pete Dunne was in a promo and complained about his nickname before saying he would take Trick Williams down. Williams saw the video and said he would be ready to face him next week.
WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Tony D'Angelo (c) vs. Tavion Heights - Heritage Cup Match
Round 1 started with D'Angelo in control. He hit some big moves before getting an ankle lock as the timer counted down. Round 2 saw Wren Sinclair show up to cheer them on, and D'Angelo was still in control in the ring.
Early into Round 3, Tony got the Forgetaboutit for the first pin of the match. Round 4 began with Tavion in control after a pep talk from Wren Sinclair, and he got a big slam for a pinfall of his own, tying the score.
Round 5 began with the two trading strikes as Dempsey and Borne praised Sinclair at ringside. Tony came back with some suplexes and spinebusters before getting the final pin and retaining the Heritage Cup!
Result: Tony D'Angelo def. Tavion Heights to retain the Heritage Cup

WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Brooks Jensen vs. Cedric Alexander
Cedric was sent outside early on, and Jensen unloaded on him as he returned to the ring. Shawn Spears showed up at ringside, and Jensen drove Cedric into the turnbuckles before hitting a huge elbow in the corner.
Jensen sent Alexander back outside and hit a gourd buster on the announce desk but missed a dive on the floor. Back in the ring, Cedric hit the Lumbar check for the win.
Result: Cedric Alexander def. Brooks Jensen

Je'Von Evans got a short promo about his childhood memories of watching the controversial legend Jeff Hardy on WWE before NXT continued.
The Rascalz also got a promo in which they decided to challenge the NXT tag champs Axiom and Nathan Frazer to a tag title match.
We got a concert from Joe Hendry where he made fun of Gallus and said that Booker T was the president of his fan club.
Gallus showed up to protest, and a three-on-one brawl broke out before Joe Coffey smashed the guitar on Hendry's back.
Ethan Page and Oro Mensah were backstage in Ava's office. Mensah said that he hurt Page's precious ego by pinning him over and over. Page tried to brush it off before they signed the match contract for next week, and Oro said that he would take the title from him next week.
Shawn Michaels seemed to break a WWE rule since all match contract signings are supposed to be live and in the ring.
WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Jaida Parker vs. Kendal Grey
Grey got a near fall early in the match before Parker dropped her on the top rope and sent her head-first into the turnbuckles.
For some reason, Parker got a near fall off an inverted vertical suplex before Wren Sinclair and Miles Borne came out.
Grey tossed Borne into the barricades before heading back into the ring. Parker used the distraction to hit a big hip attack in the corner before getting another rear end in the middle of the ring and picking up the win.

The NXT Tag Title Match was made official for next week, and Nathan Frazer was worried about being 'locked in.' Axiom said they had it covered, but only after his WWE Speed match this week.
Again, another contract signing that wasn't live and in the ring.
WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Jacy Jayne, Jazmyn Nyx & Fallon Henley vs. Karmen Petrovic, Lola Vice & Sol Ruca
Henley and Ruca kicked off the match, and Petrovic was tagged in early on before being isolated by the heels. Karmen came back with some big kicks and locked in a submission hold on Nyx.
Vice was tagged in, and she got some strikes on Jayne before they traded chops in the middle of the ring.
Karmen was back in, and she and Ruca cleared the ring before Petrovic hit a big dive to the outside. Ruca got a moonsault on the heels before Vice got a big series of kicks in the ring. Ruca got another dive into a clothesline before Ruca, Vice, and Petrovic hit triple hip attacks in the corner.
Nyx came in with a Pele Kick on Petrovic before Jayne got a forearm, and Henley got a cutter before winning.

Tatum Paxley asked Kelani Jordan to play with her, but the champ refused. Paxley asked for a title match and was refused before walking off.
Wendy Choo was lurking in the background the whole time.
Joe Hendry was in the parking lot and challenged Joe Coffey to a match next week.
WWE NXT Great American Bash Night 1 Results: Roxanne Perez (c) vs. Thea Hail - NXT Women's Championship match
Hail went for a handshake, but the champ kicked her hand away before the two traded rollups. Perez blocked the Kimura Lock before getting a kick and trying for a cross-face of her own. The two rolled through each other's submission attempts before Hail lifted the champ and got a big slam into a senton.
Perez came back with a big slam of her own and tried for the cross-face again. Thea transitioned into the Kimura once more before the champ reversed it yet again. After some more back-and-forth on the mat, Perez got back up and hit Pop Rox for the win.
Results: Roxanne Perez def. Thea Hail to retain the NXT Women's Championship
Grade: A
Perez celebrated with her title, and Hail was consoled by her Chase U stablemates as NXT went off the air.
