We kicked off NXT with the return of the Black and Bold brand's very own Mauro Ranallo. The Mama Mia Meister introduced the WWE Universe to the latest episode, going over what they may have missed over the past week.

Killian Dain interrupted Ranallo's introduction, however, demanding someone step up to challenge him, preferably Damian Priest. Instead, it was the man that defeated them both at WarGames, Pete Dunne.

Killian Dain vs Pete Dunne

Dunne took the fight to the Beast of Belfast, rushing through the ropes and hammering Dain with punches. He quickly moved in for a submission, but Dain escaped. However, Dunne was able to latch on to Dain's digits.

Dain finally shook the Bruiserweight and sent him flying over the ropes. Dunne countered a suicide dive with a step-up enziguri. As he rolled back in, though, the Divide cut Dunne in half. The Hound of Ulster continued to tear apart the former UK Champion, breaking him apart with clubbing blows.

Dunne bounced off the mat following a wicked running forearm strike to the upper body, allowing Dain to trap him in a rear chin lock. Dunne tried to break it by going after his fingers again, though. Managing to escape, he made it back to his feet and set Dain up in the corner for a running enziguri. Dunne avoided a pump kick and planted Dain with a German suplex. The big man kicked out at two.

Dain avoided a moonsault on the outside as Dunne landed on his bad leg. As he stumbled, Dain got back in the ring and bounced off the ropes for a massive suicide dive. On the inside, the former NXT Tag Team Champion tore apart Dunne's leg, further injuring the knee that was damaged at WarGames.

Dunne caught Dain on the top rope, though, and tried to snap his fingers. When Dain blocked, he was brought crashing down with a superplex. Dunne followed that up with a rope assisted Tornado DDT. Dain kicked out again.

On the outside, Dunne finally hit his apron moonsault. Sadly for him, Dain recovered quickly and planted him on the apron with a Wasteland. A running senton on the floor left Dunne crushed. Dain followed that up with a running cannonball into the steel steps.

Back on the inside, though, Dunne countered a Vader Bomb, trapping Dain in a triangle choke. He moved towards the fingers but Dain shook him off, planting him with a sit out powerbomb.

Dain tried to move up for a Vader Bomb again, only for Dunne to jump on his back. A sleeper hold knocked out Dain, but as he fell off the top he sandwiched Dunne between himself and the mat, giving him the win.

Results: Killian Dain defeated Pete Dunne via pinfall.

Dakota Kai was interviewed backstage about her upcoming match with Rhea Ripley. Kai said that she's already taken out Mia Yim, Tegan Nox and left Candice LeRae hurt. Tonight, she'll take out the Nightmare.
