WWE NXT Results: TNA champ challenges for top title, ex-AEW star attacks Trick Williams

We got another great episode of WWE NXT as we headed to Battleground.

After Ava kicked things off, we learned that Sexxy Red would be hosting the upcoming show in Las Vegas.

Red helped Ava unveil the NXT Women's North American Championship before Tatum Paxley showed up and tried to steal it. Michin came out, and we headed for the night's first match shortly after.

WWE NXT Results: Michin vs. Tatum Paxley

Paxley had the early advantage and had the drop on Michin in the corner as Jaida Parker came out and joined the commentary team. The distraction allowed Michin to get some big moves in.

Michin got the crescent kick and a German suplex before the two met in the middle of the ring and taunted each other on all fours. Michin did the "too sweet" gesture and touched Paxley's forehead before picking up the win with the Eat Defeat.

Result: Michin def. Tatum Paxley

Grade: B


WWE NXT Results: Ridge Holland vs. Riley Osborne

Ridge was in control early on and sent Riley into the corner before telling Chase U he didn't want to do this. The two landed outside off a botched move, and Riley's head hit the announce desk before we headed for a break.

Holland got kicked off the apron back on NXT and landed back outside before catching Riley with a right hook off the dive. Ridge went for the steel steps, but Thea Hail stopped him, and Holland backed off before heading back to the ring.

Riley got a big clothesline in the ring before Holland hit his finisher, The Redeemer, in the middle of the ring for the win.

Result: Ridge Holland def. Riley Osborne

Holland tried to shake Osborne's hand after the match, but the latter turned him down and ran backstage.

Grade: B-


Backstage on NXT, we saw Oro Mensah lying on the floor after a supposed attack as officials and the rest of Meta-Four ran in to help him.


WWE NXT Results: Edris Enofe & Malik Blade vs. The O.C.

Blade and Enofe were in control early on and got some big double-team moves on Anderson before they botched a dive and fell outside, taking out Brinley Reece.

After a break on NXT, The O.C. was in control, and Blade was isolated in the ring. Enofe tagged in and took a chokeslam and the Magic Killer before The O.C. picked up the win.

Result: The O.C. def. Edris Enofe & Malik Blade

After the match, the tag champs Nathan Frazer and Axiom attacked The O.C., but the latter team ran off. Frazer and Axiom got on the mic and challenged them to a tag title match at Battleground.

Grade: B


Dante Chen and Lexis King set up a rematch after the latter called last week's win a fluke.


Trick Williams and Je'Von Evans were backstage when Sexxy Red came in to wish them luck for their match against Gallus. Evans asked Red to accompany them at ringside tonight before the three walked off together.

Roxanne Perez said it was humiliating that she had to find out who her opponent was like this.

Ava said she should cut the 'woe is me' act and revealed that her Battleground opponent would be TNA Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace!

Grace introduced herself to the crowd before saying that she would be challenging Roxanne in Las Vegas and hoped to walk out as double champion!


Eddy Thorpe was in a promo and said that he had been cleansed by fire and reborn, ready to make his return.


WWE NXT Results: Lola Vice vs. Arianna Grace

Grace was able to reverse the early offense from the Vice before taking a heel kick.

Grace was sent into the corner as Vice got some big strikes and a hip attack. Lola got a big spinning back fist off a counter before winning.

Result: Lola Vice def. Arianna Grace

Lola called Shayna Baszler out after the match, and Baszler made her entrance. The two had to be held back by officials so they didn't start a brawl.

Grade: C


We got a promo for a former cheerleader, Carlee Bright before Izzi Dame and Karmen Petrovic got into a fight backstage.

The No Quarter Catch Crew was backstage, and Charlie Dempsey said that he wanted his Heritage Cup back. He said that they had to be more like The D'Angelo Family and sent Damon Kemp to take them down.


WWE NXT Results: Dante Chen vs. Lexis King

Chen had the early advantage and got a takedown with a pump kick before King turned it around and unloaded on him on the mat.

Chen got a near fall off an inside cradle before King got a Jackhammer for a near fall of his own. While King argued with the ref, Chen rolled him up for the win.

Result: Dante Chen def. Lexis King

King was furious after the loss and attacked Chen, dropping him off the apron and ripping off the padding on the floor before hitting a coronation on the concrete.

Grade: B-


In a short promo, Josh Briggs talked about how he was still trying to find himself. Shawn Spears was watching the promo backstage and said something about the 'youth in NXT being misguided.' He said he would guide them and give them the answers they need.


WWE NXT Results: Kelani Jordan vs. Wren Sinclair

Fallon Henley was on commentary for this one, and Jordan got some big moves early on, including a big dropkick.

Sinclair was sent outside before heading back into the ring for a series of rollups and counters. Jordan hit a back suplex before winning with the split-legged moonsault.

Result: Kelani Jordan def. Wren Sinclair

Grade: B-


Stevie Turner was backstage and asked Ava why she was overlooked for a title shot while Jordynn Grace managed to get it.

Grace came in and said that she wanted to prove herself in NXT before challenging Turner to a match next week.


WWE NXT Results: Trick Williams & Je'Von Evans vs. Gallus

Trick was in control early on, and Evans was tagged in before being isolated by Gallus. Trick tagged back in and got some big boots and a front-face slam before hitting double Uranages on Gallus for a double near fall.

Gallus was in control, and Joe Coffey tried to use Trick's title to get a cheap shot, but Sexxy Red got in the way before Je'Von took him down with a big dive. Back in the ring, Trick got the Trick Shot jumping knee before winning.

Result: Trick Williams & Je'Von Evans def. Gallus

Grade: A


After the match, Lash Legend asked Trick if he had attacked Noam Dar. Trick was about to answer when the lights went out. When they came back on, Trick got pushed into Legend from behind before the assailant sent him into the corner.

It turned out that it was former AEW star Ethan Page as he hit Trick with a running knee in the corner and knocked him out.
