WWE Power Rankings: 16 October, 2016
There were rumours about Vince McMahon being unhappy with how the WWE product is going. This is perhaps the reason we saw some major shifts last week. WWE made some huge announcement throughout last week with the return of Goldberg and the Women’s Hell in a Cell match being the most notable ones.
Apart from this, the fairy tale run of James Ellsworth infused with the help of Dean Ambrose was also a talking point all over the wrestling fan base. All this and the string of matches that happened during Monday Night Raw and SmackDown Live have caused a stir in the WWE Power Rankings.
We have some new entries as well so without further introductions, here are this week’s WWE Power Rankings.
#10 James Ellsworth (NR)
Mark this point in time, because this is the first time ever that James Ellsworth is making his entry into the Power Rankings. And it could also be the last. Ellsworth showed up on this week’s SmackDown and did something that none of us thought that he could do. He defeated reigning WWE champion AJ Styles and got himself a shot at the title next week.
He did have a helping hand from Dean Ambrose, but in the record books, it stands James Ellsworth 1-0 AJ Styles. The chances of Ellsworth going all the way and getting the gold are low, but getting a win over the champ was enough to get him a place in the Power Rankings.
