WWE Power Rankings: October 3, 2016
The wrestling business was in full-fledged mode this week around as the fans got to see some exciting action across different promotions. WWE came up with two of their flagship shows this week and with the absence of a pay-per-view this weekend, it seemed like that promotion was going for a laid back booking style for both the shows.
It was hard to pick the better show from the two as both seemed above average and a good distance away from causing the fans mark out. Despite this, the power rankings saw some good movements and as every week, we are going to list them down.
#10 John Cena
After a few forgettable weeks, John Cena was back in the Power Rankings thanks to a dominant showing on SmackDown. Cena did not have a match to speak about but he did play a big role in the SmackDown main event between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose. In fact, it was the interference of Cena that decided the winner of the match.
Though chaos ensued in the post-match segment, Cena stood tall over both Ambrose and Styles to deliver the message that he is going nowhere. Heading to No Mercy, such a showing was necessary for the former champion and he got exactly this on SmackDown.
