WWE/Pro Wrestling News: Brian Pillman Jr. talks about possible Hart Foundation HOF induction and HOF possibility for his father
What's the story?
Brian Pillman Jr. recently spoke with the WINCLY podcast about a variety of topics including the original Hart Foundation potentially getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year as well as the potential for his father to follow suit with a possible induction into the Hall of Fame.
In case you missed it . . .
Pillman Jr. started wrestling recently and won the 'Rookie of the Year' award in MLW last year. He's currently a member of the Hart Foundation in MLW along with Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Teddy Hart.
The heart of the matter
Since WrestleMania season and Hall of Fame season are both heating up, WINCLY spoke with Pillman Jr. about his thoughts regarding a possible HOF induction for the original Hart Foundation as well as a potential induction into the HOF for his father.
"I haven't heard anything from [WWE] about it, but it's possible," said Pillman. "I don't think my mom has too much bad blood with the company even though she wasn't always the easiest person to work with. She's not trying to get it in but I think the people know it. Vince knows it. Everybody knows he deserves to go in," stated Pillman.
Even though the rumored induction of the Hart Foundation was for the team of Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart and manager Jimmy Hart, Pillman said he'd accept it if it came to fruition for his father or not.
"If he goes in with the Hart Foundation, I think that would be a good way to do it. I'm not gonna sit there and complain that he deserves it on his own."
He also mentioned how it was an honor to work with some of the contemporaries of his father in Major League Wrestling.
"A lot of the older guys…kinda their sendoff to the next generation of guys [is to work with younger talent]. Guys like Kevin Sullivan, Sandman, Tommy Dreamer – it's truly wonderful to be sitting underneath that learning tree whether they're my opponents or tag partners."
What's next?
Pillman has been experiencing some success as a member of the Hart Foundation in MLW. Teddy Hart is both the Middleweight Champion and a tag champion, but he might get 'Freebirded' into defending the tag titles with Teddy Hart recently being attacked backstage by MJF.
While wrestlers like Rikishi and Koko B. Ware are in the Hall of Fame, it shouldn't be that hard to put Brian Pillman in it as well. He's more than deserving and had a notable career in both WCW, ECW and WWF.
