WWE RAW - 18th November results
The Authority responds to last week’s events
After they took a week long holiday, The Authority “punished” RAW General Manager Brad Maddox and SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero by setting up two matches. Vickie Guerrero would face AJ Lee while Maddox would fight WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Randy Orton vs Brad Maddox
The General Manager was no match for Orton as the furious Champion took out his frustrations on Maddox. The GM first hit Orton on the head with a microphone and followed it up with a DDT. And when it looked like Maddox would clinch this, Orton retaliated by doing the exact same thing! They called the match and Orton was declared the winner.
Big E Langston vs Curtis Axel
This was for the to Intercontinental Championship and Big E Langston was to fight Axel for the title. And Langston’s strength was no match for Axel. Although he had a chance to capitalize by getting Langston’s neck on the ropes, his speed was no match for the big man’s strength. Langston countered the neck breaker and finished Axel off with a Big Ending to claim the title.
Divas Musical Chairs
What was supposed to be an innocent little game turned out to be an all out fight involving the women of the WWE. With Jerry “The King” Lawler being the moderator, even he couldn’t do anything to stop the brawl between the cast of “Total Divas” and the Divas in the WWE. It ended with the not so “Total Divas” getting tossed out of the ring.
Big Show vs Ryback
Ryback started this match on a confident note, much like how he took on the Great Khali few weeks ago. Big Show rode it out and it reached a point where ‘The Human Wrecking Ball’ performed a Shell Shocked late in the match. But that wasn’t enough to bring the big man down and he finished him off with a KO Punch. It wasn’t all over though as Randy Orton came into the ring but ended up being speared by the Show!
The Real Americans vs The Miz & Kofi Kingston
The Miz & Kofi Kingston are a formidable pair in the ring but when they came up against the Real Americans, they had a fight on their hands. It was a good fight until The Miz surprised everybody by abandoning Kof Kingston just before he was about to be tagged in. This left Kofi at the mercy of Jack Swagger who was more than happy to capitalize and used a Patriot Lock to force Kofi to sumbit and give them The Real Americans the win.
AJ Lee vs Vickie Guerrero
In the second of GM vs Wrestler matches of the night, Vickie Guerrero came up against the Divas Champion AJ Lee. Orton had earlier taken care of Maddox and this fight could have gone the same way. Only that Vickie Guerrero tried to get the match cancelled by “fainitng”, causing the referees to almost cancel the match. But Stephanie McMahon knew what Vickie was up to and put her back into the ring. AJ Lee took the opportunity to apply the Black Widow to take the win. And once she did, Vickie did actually faint!
Dolph Ziggler vs Damien Sandow
This was an impromtu fight and WWE COO Triple H put Dolph Ziggler up against Damien Sandow – in a Broadway Brawl! In a ring filled with musical instruments, Ziggler and Sandow were supposed to use these instruments as weapons. It was musical pandemonium (if there is such a term) as we saw Sandow swing a Stratocaster and Ziggler fall through an electronic keyboard. But before a guitar made contact with his skull, Ziggler found his way back into the match by breaking a fiddle on Sandow’s spine. Sandow countered by hurling Ziggler into a bass fiddle but Ziggler played the last notes as he trapped Sandow inside a bass drum and brought a guitar down on him!
Alberto Del Rio confronts John Cena
The World Heavyweight Champion John Cena’s speech was interrupted by “Mexico’s Greatest Export” as he tried to heap misery on Cena who had one arm in a sling. But Cena was up to the task as he threw off his sling and tried to fight Del Rio. He almost succeeded with an Attitude Adjustment before Del Rio scampered out and avoided any damage. Will Cena finish the job on Sunday in Survivor Series or will his ailing body let him down?
R-Truth & Xavier Woods vs The Rhinestone Cowboys
3MB had a tough time against new partners R-Truth and Xavier Woods. Woods survived an onslaught from both Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal before Truth tagged in to bring some life into the contest. He managed to regain the advantage and performed his “Honor Roll” and “Lost in the Woods” boot to the face to finish off McIntyre!
Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, The Usos & WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs The Shield and The Wyatt Family
After the chaos from last week, the 12 wrestlers found a way to settle the matter – a 12-man Tag Team Match on RAW’s main event. The match wasn’t going exactly as planned for the fans as late in the match, The Shield and The Wyatts seemed to be winning it. They almost lost it there due to in-fighting until Bray Wyatt calmed things down to tackle Daniel Bryan.
A final last-ditch effort to tag in Punk helped even the scales as he dispatched Dean Ambrose with a Go to Sleep move after a free-for-all in the ring. The Shield and The Wyatt Family had just lost the match, and before Bryan, Punk and The Usos could celebrate, The Real Americans stormed the ring. And when it looked like it was getting out of hand, Rey Mysterio made hi way to the ring and performed a double 619 on Jack Swagger and Luke Harper. The mask is back!
