WWE RAW, 23rd September - Locker Room Talk

Shield faced an uphill task this past week on Raw

This week’s RAW was live from Chicago, Illinois and was one of the overwhelming episodes. With several new developments, WWE is gearing up to build a strong card for Battleground.

This week’s RAW Locker Room talk features backstage interview with the Miz, AJ Lee getting some McMahon heat and a strong promo by the Shield. Let us try and look into what the backstage segments featured and what were the aftereffects and consequences of the same.

1. Renee Young interviews the Miz

Renee Young interviewed the Miz, who was assaulted by Orton last week. Miz took the beating of his life in front of his hometown and parents. It is surprising that he recovered from the injury so soon but he did look dull and tired. Miz starts speaking about the attack and is almost immediately interrupted by Triple H. Hunter says that the Miz cannot lay his hands on Orton until he’s cleared to wrestle, instead he will host Miz TV with his special guest being the Big Show.

The interview led to one of the best Miz TVs, where for once, Miz looked convincing on the mic as a face. Big Show was asked some harsh truth about his role in the corporation and Stephanie asked Show to knock Miz down, which he did without any hesitation whatsoever.

2. Orton brings the best out of Brie Bella after a sour confrontation

Randy Orton battered RVD after their match and then met the Bellas backstage. He told Brie that he would do much more than what he did to RVD to Bryan at Battleground. This heated confrontation was actually the reason why Brie Bella was so fired up and ended the Divas match in the blink of an eye.

This was her tweet post match telling the same.

3. Stephanie and AJ have a not so comfortable chat backstage

Though AJ Lee is the Divas Champion, she is not more powerful than the Boss Lady. Stephanie showed her just that after AJ barged in and demanded to be removed from the match and be treated like a Divas champion. Stephanie said that she won’t be champion for long if she didn’t make it to the match today. Well, that clearly showed AJ her position and made her realize that she is as vulnerable as the other divas. Does this lead to an AJ face turn? Well, only time can answer this question.

4. The Shield cut a strong promo

The Shield clearly had their backs against the walls as they had the tough task of fighting in a 11-on-3 handicap match. The Shield looked visibly upset with the decision of the bosses and this paved way for the promo. Though the entire segment didn’t mention anything of that sort, there was a strong feeling that the Shield were trying to indicate the same.

The Shield said that they’ve always come out on top at times of adversity and they will do the same irrespective of the match they are put in. The good thing about the promo was that Dean Ambrose was made to do most of the speaking.
