WWE RAW: 2nd December results
CM Punk vs The Shield
Monday night RAW started with CM Punk talking about last week’s attack by The Shield. He figures they attacked him because he criticized Triple H. As he starts talking about Triple H and how daft he must be to try such a stunt, Stephanie McMahon comes out and denies that allegation, saying The Authority have other things to deal with than CM Punk. And if Punk had any other issues, he could sort it out with the Director of Operations – Kane.
As Kane and CM Punk trade verbal blows on who was responsible, The Shield also makes their way to the ring while Punk grabs a chair to protect himself. But by this time Kane has had enough and announces a 3 on 1 handicap match between CM Punk and the Shield at TLC!
Damien Sandow vs Dolph Ziggler
In this No. 1 Contendors Match, Ziggler and Sandow fought an intense match with both wrestlers gaining the upper hand at times, with both using a number of moves. Ziggler tried a Zig Zag while Sandow used the Elbow of Disdain. Both came close to winning but just managed a 2 count. The match finally ended when Ziggler went to the top rope but Sandow connected with a “You’re Welcome” to win by a 3 count pinfall.
The Bella Twins and Natalya vs AJ Lee, Summer Rae and Tamina
Tamina and Nikki Bella got this 6-woman tag team match underway. Nikki came close with a crucifix for the 2 count followed by a dorp kick before tagging in Brie. Tamina counters a missile drop kick and trapped her on the ropes, choking her. Summer Rae tags in and avoids the 2 count. The Divas tried a number of times to fell their opponents with DDTs and elbow drops until AJ Lee tags in, much to the crowd’s delight.
But Natalya grabs AJ’s leg and is about to go for the sharpshooter before Tamina interferes. But she isn’t there for long as the Bella twins remove her from the ring. And soon after, Natalya gets AJ from behind and got the 3 count.
Daniel Bryan vs Eric Rowan
After getting the crowd to chant “Yes!”, the match got underway with Rowan getting the upper hand with a headbutt. As both tried to gain the upper hand with sleeper holds and yes locks, it reached a point where Bryan is inside the ring while Rowan is outside. Bryan launches himself over the ropes but Rowan catches him and hurls him into the barricade. After more locks and counters, Rowan throws him onto the steel steps. But once both were back in the ring, neither wrestler seemed to give way.
Soon, the crowd was egging Bryan on and then Rowan gets a boot to the face at the corner. Just as Bryan goes to the top rope, Rowan hits Bryan in the face with his foot. As Rowan lifts Bryan, he slips in behind him and rolls him to win by pinfall.
Tons of Funk vs R-Truth and Xavier Woods
This tag team match saw everything from dropkicks, to chops, to ten punch combos and jaw breakers. But in the end, Woods connected with a splash and rolled up Brodus Clay for the 3 count and win by pinfall.
Alberto Del Rio vs. Sin Cara
On Sin Cara’s return, he has to deal with Del Rio who calls him Mexican trash and wants him taken back to Mexico by immigration officials. But as words gave way to kicks and punches, Cara starts taking control. As Del Rio gets out of the ring, Cara connects with an Asai Moonsault. Once they were both back in the ring, Del Rio tries to gain the upper hand with a rear chin lock and headbutt. But Cara manages to perform a head scissor from the ropes. In spite of Del Rio trying to pin him after a German suplex, Sin Cara goes to the top rope and uses the Swanton Bomb to get the 3 count to bet Del Rio!
The Shield vs Rhodes Brothers and Big Show
Big Show and Dean Ambrose start things off and the Show hits him with a couple of big chops! Rollins tags in but is hit by an elbow drop. Show then throws him into The Shield’s corner where Reigns tags in but he too is chopped by the Show. Goldust then tags in to face Ambrose. As they trade blows, Cody tags in and gets a shot at him from the top rope.
As the fight rages on, it almost culminates when Big Show catches Reigns and delivers a chokeslam! Goldust then uses an uppercut and then an atomic drop followed by a Hurricurana and then a powerslam on Rollins. Goldust then does a superplex on Ambrose but Reigns rolls up Goldust to win with a 3 count pinfall.
The Miz and Kofi Kingston vs Ryback and Curtis Axel
Axel and the Miz start things off and Miz gets the upper hand with a clothesline and a double ax handle. As he tried a Figure 4, Axel reaches the ropes. Ryback tags in and does a suplex on Miz. He then uses a waistlock before throwing him down by his hair. Later, a snapmare and mule kick follows. Kofi tags in but Ryback catches him. Finally, Kofi eats a huge clothesline from Ryback, who lifts him up and uses the Shellshock to win by a 3 count pinfall!
Mark Henry vs Fandango
Henry first throws Fandango and scares him by yelling at him. As Fandango starts dancing, Henry slams him with a scoop followed by a clothesline after which he walks over him! Fandango then gets elbowed but manages to do a DDT. He then goes to the top rope and launches himself. Henry catches him but can’t maintain balance and falls over. He only manages a 2 count after which Henry connects with a clothesline. Mark Henry then lifts him up and finishes him off with the World’s Strongest Slam and 3 count.
The Primetime Players vs The Real Americans
Swagger and Titus start things off. As they both fall to each other courtesy some slams and boots to the face, Swagger gets the upper hand with a clothesline. Cesaro tags in and hangs Titus off the rope while the referee isn’t looking. He then connects with a fall away slam. The Real Americans then use the double elbow. But Titus is sick now and Young tags in who uses the clothesline and belly suplex to his advantage. But Cesaro then counters with a Cesaro European Uppercut and wins with a 3 count.
Randy Orton and John Cena – Contract Signing
Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, Randy Orton and John Cena are present in the ring with tables, ladders and chairs set up. Triple H mentions that the biggest match in WWE history will take place in two weeks with both championships hanging above the ring. Cena and Orton would fight it out to become the new Unified Champion. This was a plan that was in the works for a long time.
Both Orton and Cena sign the contract after a talk from Triple H regarding carrying the legacy as the face of the WWE. Randy Orton then talks about how he is better than the legends who held his title and that he was better than Triple H as well. Cena interrupts and then says although Orton is talented, he is arrogant. He also says that he earned his title while Orton was gifted his.
By now, both men are on a short fuse and Orton deals the first blow by throwing a table at Cena, who retaliates by smashing a ladder at Orton’s face. As they continue to fight inside and outside the ring, it ends with Cena lifting Orton on his shoulder and delivering an AA through a table in the ring.
The show ends with Cena lifting both titles above his head and telling a prone Orton, “You can’t see me!”
