WWE Raw: 3 biggest questions from this week’s episode (February 04, 2019)
While the first episode of Raw after Royal Rumble delivered very well, the episode that followed this week did not do the job well enough.
WWE needs to focus on delivering good shows week after week on the buildup towards WrestleMania, which is only a couple of months away.
Becky Lynch is being used extensively on both shows to cut promos and increase the ratings, but even her promo to kickoff Raw this week could not help the show get any better later on.
The tag team match to determine the number one contender for the Tag Team Championships was highly predictable, as was Sasha Banks and Bayley fighting Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross for the final Raw spot in the Women's Tag Team Elimination Chamber match.
Braun Strowman teamed up with an unlikely partner to take on Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre in a match which ended with another disqualification.
Overall, the show did not deliver as it should have with all the great Superstars involved. We were left with a few questions at the end of the night, which could be addressed in the following few shows.
So check out 3 biggest questions from this week’s Raw, and share your most puzzling moments from the show in the comments section below.
#3 Why did Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman team up?
Kurt Angle was scheduled to address the WWE Universe on Monday Night, and fans were expecting him to either announce his retirement or announce how he wants to continue at his age.
While Angle did take the stage to make some announcement, he was interrupted by two men who beat him in recent weeks, Baron Corbin and Drew McIntyre.
Baron Corbin and Kurt Angle’s story is already old and stale now, while McIntyre deserves to do better than mock superstars in their 50s at this point in his career.
The most surprising thing to come out in this segment was Braun Strowman coming to Angle’s aide, and then the two teaming up to take on the heels later in the night.
While it makes sense that Strowman would come after the men who injured him a couple of months ago and once again attacked him last week, it made no sense for him to defend the man who denied him many chances as the General Manager of Raw.
What Raw needed this week was Strowman to pair up with another current superstar who’s in need of a push, to take on two established men on Raw in order to get a significant spotlight, such as Apollo Crews or even Mojo Rawley.
