WWE Raw: 3 things we are glad did not happen on this week's episode (February 04, 2019)
This week, Raw once again got back to its old ways and booked haphazard matches in an attempt to benefit a few superstars at the cost of others.
After the night kicked off with a great segment between Becky Lynch and Stephanie McMahon, things spiraled downwards soon after as questionable matches and segments took the night away.
Ronda Rousey beat not one, but two Riott Squad members with ease, while Sasha Banks and Bayley, who were attacked by the heel team of Nikki Cross and Alicia Fox, managed to overcome their initial beating.
The Revival finally won a match convincingly, while Finn Balor was forced to fight Bobby Lashley’s hype-man through injuries.
Even though the night saw a bunch of mediocre matches, we are glad a few things did not happen which could have made matters worse.
So check out the 3 things we are glad that did not happen on this week’s Raw, and share your thoughts on the show in the comments below!
#3 Any other team win the number one contender’s match
Last week Shane McMahon set up the Four Corners No. 1 Contender contest for SmackDown Live to determine the number one contender for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship held by The Miz and himself.
Similarly, Raw followed in SmackDown’s footsteps and had its own Four Corners No. 1 Contender contest to determine Raw Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode and Chad Gable’s challengers.
One thing that remained the same was Heavy Machinery’s inclusion in the match which shows that the two huge men are getting a huge push. While the two men once again impressed and seemed to dominate the match more often than not, it was The Revival who took the victory.
While Heavy Machinery is a great team, they never got very high profile matches in NXT. Therefore, some development still needs to be done before they can win the tag team titles of either brand.
On the other hand, The Revival really need to win the Raw Tag Team Championships, and their victory could mean that they will finally win gold at Elimination Chamber.
