WWE Raw: 4 huge mistakes WWE made on this week’s episode (May 27, 2019)

This week's Raw could have been much better

With the Double or Nothing event from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) tearing up the wrestling scene, WWE had very little margin for error on Raw this week. While the creatives must have worked overtime to come up with the best content possible, they faltered in many places which made the episode largely forgettable.

The best moments from the episode came from Brock Lesnar’s ‘BeastBox’ and the never-before-seen side to his character. Other than that, the episode was largely generic and gave us an almost rerun of last week’s Raw and SmackDown Live combined.

WWE also did not use the 24/7 Championship effectively this week, while the wild-card rule is now giving us only a handful of faces on television twice a week.

In this article, we will take a look at the 4 biggest mistakes WWE committed on this week’s Raw, and how it can impact the superstars involved in the future.

#4 The participants of the Fatal 4-Way match

With the threat of Brock Lesnar cashing in his Money in the Bank contract looming, WWE announced a Fatal 4-Way match to determine who Seth Rollins will defend his Universal Championship against at Super ShowDown.

The participants announced were The Miz, AJ Styles, Braun Strowman, and Bobby Lashley. Early in the night, AJ Styles announced he was too injured to compete tonight, and Baron Corbin attacked him in the training room. This allowed Corbin to take his spot in the match.

While the match seemed solid, the participants of the match were an odd choice. WWE made the mistake of putting Strowman and Lashley into the match which automatically made fans believe they won’t be winning as they have a match scheduled between themselves for the event.

All this match did was help build-up their clash for the event a little, as Lashley and Strowman fought into the crowd.

On the other hand, handing another defeat to The Miz was also a questionable decision, and WWE could have easily given his spot to Ricochet or someone similar to protect The Miz for future opportunities.
