WWE RAW: 4 reasons why Bray Wyatt’s new gimmick will be great

It had been coming. WWE had been teasing Bray Wyatt’s return with flashes of his buzzard and a witch doll. When the promos were being displayed, one would have thought that Wyatt’s new gimmick might be more sinister than it was ever before.

I mean, just look at that buzzard – let alone the doll – and it is enough to give a person the creeps. But then on Monday Night Raw, WWE aired a children-themed promo named Firefly Fun House and lo and behold, Bray Wyatt was revealed as the main character of the show.

At first glance, it felt like WWE totally ruined Wyatt’s character by giving him a makeover that seemed similar to the New Day. Can you imagine The Undertaker wearing a bandana and riding a Harley Davidson to put on a new gangster gimmick?

Oh, wait.

And that’s when it struck me: this is going to be a great character for Wyatt (I absolutely love Biker Taker to the point that I believe Undertaker should come back in that gimmick) and here are 4 reasons why.

#4 Lot of time repackaging

The last time we saw Bray Wyatt on TV was on July last year (not counting his appearance on Starrcade in November). At the time, he was one-half of the Tag Team, Deleters of Worlds, alongside Matt Hardy.

It wasn’t long before that when he was feuding against Matt Hardy but the Woken Matt pushed Wyatt into the Lake of Reincarnation, which turned his sinister dark heel character into a face.

We couldn’t, however, see much of that as Matt Hardy took time off wrestling to recuperate from injuries. Wyatt, too, as a result, had to take time off television for about a year.

So, WWE and Wyatt got a LOT of time to plan this gimmick and repackage the latter to suit the character. Not only has Wyatt become physically ripped, his mannerisms have also changed.
