You can always make the argument that WWE has far too many titles already. And you would not be wrong because the company certainly does have a lot of underutilized Champions.

I mean the RAW Tag Team Champions did not wrestle a match at Money in the Bank and neither did The IIconics, the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. But then again, WWE probably has a plan for the newly unveiled green title.

The crowd did not seem all that enthused when the title was unveiled probably because of the reasons I have outlined and also, the way it looks. But whatever the case may be WWE had their reasons for launching yet another title.

What could the reasoning be for this new Championship? In this article I, will explore the possible reasons and invite you to do the same in the comments below.

#5 Adds an element of urgency to the show

I mean three Champions have been crowned on the very same night. The first was Titus O'Neil, the second was Robert Roode, and the current Champion is R-Truth. While a lot of serious wrestling fans may not really be invested in such a title, it is impossible to deny that it adds an element of unpredictability to the overall proceedings.

How often have we complained that RAW in particular and also SmackDown at times seem like by-the-numbers shows where nothing unexpected ever really happens. The 24/7 title takes us back to the era of the Hardcore Championship, where just about anything could happen at any given point in time.

It's the same reason why Brock Lesnar is Mr. Money in the Bank. There's always the threat of The Beast cashing in his contract when we least expect him to.
