WWE RAW: Most improved Superstars
I admit, I had my doubts about giving Big Show a significant role in the new Corporation storyline.
Big Show
He being the Authority’s beast of burden and specifically Stephanie’s right hand (fist) man could have just been a running gag but Big Show has surpassed the expectations and given some of the most engaging performance as a harassed employee. Thank God!
Mark Henry got injured. But I’ll be glad if he returns soon but let’s take a moment and relive the promo Big Show gave just a few hours ago backstage while talking to Renee Young, who happens to be the best backstage interviewers and female announcers right now.
He was emotional, sad, angry, livid and the expression that spread like wild fire on his face just when he said that he’s going to give a piece of mind to Triple H was pure gold. It looked so much like an 80s kind of promo. It seemed larger than life maybe much much more enhanced because he is a giant. It reminded me of so many old school promos.
He was amazing when he just charged away to Triple H’s office. His momentum soon died as Triple H kept him waiting and then Stephanie ridiculed his and made fun of his masculinity. This week WWE creative really got together to give Big Show some okay material to work with to emote his real feelings in this fictional storyline, of course.
Though when he swept Maddox off his feet it was clear that the Bog Show will have to wait for his revenge. But all in all, a great promo by Show
On the other hand, there was someone else who was pretty good this week. Brie Bella is the Number One Contender which isn’t a shocker considering she is a Bella and Total Divas is essentially a launch pad for the Bellas, but I am unhappy about the false hope WWE built up with Natalya. And now she’s nowhere to be found.
Brie Bella is not a really good actress, but she surprised me with her ring work and the match was longer than the average divas match these days. And her involvement in the most significant storyline this year will be of some help to her division. For now, AJ is not the only significant Diva in the WWE. She has competition.
And also, side note, it’s really great to see Renee Young having 3 appearances on Raw tonight, she is definitely someone who should have more screen time. She’s got an adorable personality. I just hope they don’t make her wrestle or anything. Just let her do the job she’s doing great at right now.
