WWE: RAW Preview for 22nd July
After an eventful RAW last week, which saw RVD’s return to RAW after several years, putting on an outstanding match against Chris Jericho and also John Cena picking Daniel Bryan as his opponent for SummerSlam for the WWE championship, RAW heads to Austin, Texas for this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW!
There are a lot of expectations and anticipation in the air regarding this week’s episode, which will see the road to SummerSlam taking shape, as we have 4 weeks of TV left till the biggest party of the summer. So what can we expect from this week’s episode of RAW? Let’s get right into the thick of things.
Daniel Bryan eyes the WWE championship
Last week on RAW, the WWE champion John Cena asked the fans to pick his next opponent for SummerSlam, and wanted the NY fans to pick someone they wanted to see.
To no one’s surprise, a huge ‘Daniel Bryan’ and ‘Yes’ chants started in the arena, and soon, the entire NY crowd was on its feet, making the WWE management and the WWE champion listen to them.
John Cena then acknowledged the crowd, and picked Daniel Bryan as the new number one contender for the WWE title, and this was met with a thunderous ovation. Daniel Bryan then came down the ramp, shouting ‘Yes’ at the top of his lungs, with the crowd joining him.
With Daniel Bryan-John Cena now confirmed for SummerSlam, what will happen this week to further their feud? We’ll have to wait and find out.
The Big Show returns tonight!
After losing to Jericho in May, Big Show wasn’t seen in a WWE ring. The giant will be making his return to WWE TV tonight on RAW, and already has his sights set on taking his frustrations out.
With him stating that he will take whatever time he needs before coming back, who will the angry giant go after? Is anyone safe from the monster’s wrath? We’ll get our answers tonight!
Mark Henry has a message for The Shield
Last week, Mark Henry came out to ask John Cena for one more opportunity, one more chance to get his hands on the WWE champion, before he was interrupted by The Shield.
The trio then delivered an earth-shattering powerbomb to the world’s strongest man. With Henry making his intentions clear of going after the trio, what will he do this week to get his hands on the hounds of justice? Will Mark Henry do what hasn’t been done for the past year, and deliver his own version of justice to The Shield?
Brad Maddox era continues
Last week was the first episode of Brad Maddox era, and what an impactful beginning it was!
We had an amazing match between two veterans in this business, a great segment between Paul Heyman, CM Punk and Brock Lesnar and to finish things off, the fans had the opportunity to choose John Cena’s opponent for SummerSlam, which turned out to be Daniel Bryan!
If this is a sign for things to come, then RAW and WWE will be a lot more interesting from now!
Will Kane ‘follow the buzzards’?
The Wyatt Family made an impression on the WWE Universe that hasn’t been done in quite a while.
First, they took out Kane, and later followed it up by attacking R-Truth and 3MB. Bray Wyatt had an ominous message, asking Kane to ‘follow the buzzards’.
Was that the reason for the recent string of attacks by the Wyatt Family? Who’s next on their list? What does Bray Wyatt mean by asking Kane to follow the buzzards? We will get to know more tonight.
What does CM Punk have to say about Heyman and Lesnar?
Last week, CM Punk was absolutely destroyed by Brock Lesnar. Lesnar threw Punk around the barricades like a ragdoll, as Punk couldn’t defend himself after a hellacious ladder match the previous night, which resulted in Heyman busting CM Punk open with some hard ladder shots.
Punk had to be helped to the back by the trainers after the attack, as Heyman and Lesnar watched Punk yelling in agony.
How will the Second City Saint respond this week? Will he get his hands on Heyman? Or will Heyman once again get the upper hand? Tonight’s RAW cannot be missed, as it promises to be yet another exciting three hours of Monday Night TV!
