WWE RAW Preview: January 28th, 2019
We're not even 24-hours removed from the Royal Rumble, but what an event it was! Did the runtime go on way too long? Sure. Was the WWE Championship match disappointingly the bathroom break? Absolutely.
However, there's no denying that the Rumble as a whole was a stellar event. It's probably for one simple reason - All the right people won. Asuka established herself as the Queen of SmackDown Live by defeating former champion, Becky Lynch.
Becky Lynch herself ended the night on a great note, entering the Royal Rumble match and going on to win it. Seth Rollins would pick up a Rumble win for the red brand and it comes as no surprise as he was the odds on favourite. However, it would be wrong for us to call his win "easy", because it was anything but that.
Ronda Rousey faced her toughest test to date in Sasha Banks and prevailed. Brock Lesnar overcame Finn Balor in an incredible effort too. Without going back to last night too much, let's look at what's next. Here's what to expect from RAW tonight!
#5. Brock Lesnar triumphantly returns as Universal Champion
Brock Lesnar may have won the Universal Championship against Finn Balor, but the truth is that he didn't really beat Finn Balor as much as he survived against him. Balor didn't show up as the demon, but he took the fight to Lesnar like never before.
It went on less than ten minutes, but Balor knew that he had to be as fast as possible. He would severely injure Lesnar's ribs and worked on it quite a bit. Despite landing the coup-de-grace, he would immediately get caught in Lesnar's Kimura lock.
Post-match, Lesnar attacked Balor, hitting him with suplexes and an F5. The question is if he won, why would he launch a post-match assault? It seems like Lesnar may have a little fear in him. Will Balor be done with Lesnar?
