WWE looked to be in the mood to break records on the go-home show as the Gauntlet match featuring all the 7 Chamber participants began the night in Pheonix, Arizona.
Gauntlet match
Roman Reigns came out to a hostile reaction with a handful of fan signs being prominently featured. He cut a promo ahead of the Elimination Chamber match and named all the competitors in the match, each of them getting a solid reaction from the Pheonix fans.
He ended by claiming to be the only man who came close to conquering the Beast before Seth Rollins' theme hit.
The Shield brothers began by jockeying for position. These two have great chemistry and it was all to be seen in the initial exchanges. Reigns tied to keep Rollins grounded with a side headlock with the Architect using his agility to break free.
The fans were quite hyped up as both men stared each other down as Raw cut to a commercial break.
Reigns seemed to be the enforcer and in complete control as we returned from the break. Rollins, however, started to build some momentum with a slingblade. He clotheslined Reigns out of the ring and went for the Suicide Dive only to be stopped with a stiff right hand from the Big Dog.
The former Tag Team Champions worked a great spot in which Reigns bounced back from a Buckle Bomb to land a neat-looking Superman Punch. Both men recuperated and Rollins looked to go airborne as he attempted a Five-star frog splash. Reigns rolled away and both men start exchanging blows in the middle of the ring.
Reigns found himself on the outside at the end of the slugfest and Rollins added to his woes with a well-executed Suicide Dive. Back in the ring, Reigns got a near fall with a Superman Punch and looked to be going for the Spear before Rollins caught him with a knee.
A scrappy sequence ensued and Rollins somehow managed to roll the Big Dog up for the three-count.
Roman Reigns is the first man to get Eliminated
The Face That Runs The Place came out to spoil an intimate moment between Rollins and Reigns as Cena and the Architect continued the Gauntlet.
