WWE RAW review - Redemption time for Randy Orton

It wasn’t the first thing that any hardcore fan could have expected of Orton. He hasn’t really been on fire this year. He had a very underwhelming title run where the focus was clearly not on him, but people surrounding him. It did not help that his opponent for Wrestlemania was Batista who has had one of the most underwhelming returns in WWE history. Blame it on Creative.

Orton has been a regular on the ‘Creative has nothing for you’ part within the WWE. But his mere presence is such that it can’t be ignored. And even though he has been in a few boring matches, he did start the year with some momentum. At least his heel run had a lot of potential until Triple H again became his dominating mentor. And the 34 year old hasn’t yet been given his rematch from Wrestlemania. How long are they going to ignore it? Logic seems to have deserted even the biggest of stars’ storylines.

Orton’s Moment of Redemption

Monday night, Triple H and Stephanie were elated and ecstatic with joy, gleaming at their newest Golden Boy, who showcased some very erratic behavior after he attacked his very own partner in crime last week. Just when he thought he was going to have a near perfect night, Orton made his way to the ring and went on a rampage with his promo. It was breathless. It was spell binding, specifically because promos are not particularly his strength. He hasn’t had a great promo in quite a while. He isn’t even known for his promo selling ability.

He is predominantly greeted with the ‘WHAT’ chants but last night he did not even provide that opportunity one bit. It was a spectacular face turn or a sign for a face turn. This is precisely how Orton can connect back to the fans and let the fans connect back to the WWE. This new attitude was the highlight of an otherwise pale night. This gave the show a huge boost. The delivery of that promo seemed flawless.

At Survivor Series, the Authority is set to face Team Cena. The Authority is not on the same page and the cracks might just break loose at the PPV. Till then Orton and Rollins won’t face each other in an official match and till then Orton won’t have a total, official face turn.

Rollins shines and Ambrose moves on, for now

Hell In a Cell ended with Bray Wyatt making his return and Ambrose and Rollins giving a stellar performancehttps://www.sportskeeda.com/slideshow/wwe-hell-cell-2014-5-promising-developments. But Raw ended with people either being typically sick of Cena or praising Orton. Wyatt had his first video promo in sometime where he addressed Dean Ambrose and the attack the he ensued last night. It was pretty underwhelming, though the promo exchange still seems to be the most promising part of this feud. It is still intriguing and it is a feud that the internet fans have been longing for, for a while now. The Creative team is finally giving it to those fans.

It is a great time to be looking forward. Hell In A Cell is a huge deal because WWE let two of its newest stars to main event a PPV. They actually expected them to carry the show and end it on a high note. Two 28 year olds fought inside a Steel Cage, one of the most infamous creations of the WWE, and that too in the main event.

Ambrose and Rollins carried the whole show to its conclusion in style. What really matters is the recognition Rollins is getting given that he was able to wrestle a PPV worthy match on Raw against Cena after his performance at Hell In A Cell.

Interesting times are ahead.
