Monday Night RAW boasts a talent-rich roster, featuring a diverse array of superstars vying for glory. Among them are several talents who have never tasted a singles title in WWE. However, fortune could turn in favor of a 32-year-old star who might capture his first singles championship in his eight-year career on the upcoming episode of NXT.
The name in question is Otis. He will compete in a blockbuster match against Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship tonight. This match was made official after The Alpha Academy member accepted Femi's open challenge for the coveted title. Both superstars had a face-off on the latest edition of RAW as the NXT North American Champion was in the crowd.
Following the show, Otis also sent a bold message to Oba Femi, stating that he was coming after the title. It looks like the RAW Superstar is all set to win his first singles title in WWE. However, the possibility of it happening is relatively low. A major reason why it is unlikely is that Oba has been on a monstrous push on NXT and is unlikely to drop the title anytime soon.
Moreover, this match came out of nowhere and does not have a storyline behind it, making it less likely for a title change. Besides, Otis is currently entangled in a storyline on the red brand, and the Triple H-led regime does not seem to have any major plans for him on NXT.
Hence, The Alpha Academy member capturing his first singles gold on NXT tonight seems unlikely at this point.
Otis sent an ultimatum to Oba Femi following WWE RAW ahead of their collosal clash
After Monday Night RAW went off the air, Cathy Kelley interviewed Otis backstage, where the latter spoke about his heated confrontation with Oba Femi. The Alpha Academy sent an ultimatum to the NXT North American Champion, expressing his desire to capture the coveted gold.
With unbridled ferocity, Otis introduced himself to the 26-year-old star. He stated that the 20-pound gold on Femi's shoulder looked enticing, indicating that the title had captured his attention. Moreover, the former RAW Tag Team Champion accepted the open challenge for the NXT North American Championship.
"Oba, how ya doing? I’m Otis. That 20 pounds of gold on your shoulder sure looks damn good. If there’s one thing that people know out there, it’s I’m one mean [grunts] mother. I’m coming for you.
