Remembering Eddie Guerrero: 10 greatest moments of his career
Eddie Guerrero was a hero. He was someone who everyone loved dearly, and that’s a rare instance in the wrestling world. Eddie was a heel for a lot of his time on-screen, but in everyone’s hearts, he was never a bad person.
Guerrero will always be remembered as an inspiration, not only for his achievements in the ring, but also his struggle against drugs outside it. The entire wrestling world was terribly saddened when Eddie passed almost 9 years ago, and everyone still misses him. Eddie has had a magnificent career as a professional wrestler, and this article ranks the top ten moments in his time in the ring:
10 – Covering The Big Show in faeces
The Big Show and Eddie Guerrero have had some funny moments together, notably the toilet segment where Eddie stole the toilet paper so Show had nothing to clean up with.
But the best of them all came on the 10th of October, 2003’s episode of SmackDown, when, after The Big Show defeated Chavo Guerrero in the main event by count-out, Eddie came out to the ring with a sewage truck, and though he failed to hit Big Show in the ring, he hit it right on target when Show was at the entrance ramp, in one of the most-remembered comedic segments in WWE history.
9 – His final face turn
For most of the part of Guerrero’s last leg of his career, he was a heel, involved in a great feud against Rey Mysterio (touched upon later), and a stint as Batista’s tag team partner, which lasted until that fateful day. Guerrero did end his life as a babyface, rightfully so, and his turn came on his 38th birthday on the 9th of October, 2005, when Batista sang him a happy birthday song and he made his entrance with his coveted “Lie. Cheat. Steal” entrance song.
Until that point, Guerrero was playing a psychotic heel character who was majorly involved in a feud with Rey Mysterio, which comes up later in the list. This moment had made fans certain that Eddie was always a lovable person, despite his runs as a bad guy.
