WWE Reports: Roman Reigns's push affecting Cesaro's career

WWE superstar Antonio Cesaro

WWE superstar Antonio Cesaro has recently seen a setback in terms of getting a push to the role of a main eventer.

The King of Swing was tipped to become the next big thing after he and Paul Heyman formed a post-Wrestlemania team in the company. And it was believed that he would be pitched in with Heyman’s biggest client Brock Lesnar to help his character elevate in the current roster.

But since Daniel Bryan’s injury, WWE have focused on Roman Reigns as a babyface who has been given a major push to the top. The black-clad superstar is one of the top figures in the company right and has been since the Shield faction broke up.

Initially, he was expected to get a slow and steady rise to main event Wrestlemania 31. The plan was to pitch him into the storylines with Randy Orton and Triple H before getting his big break at the Royal Rumble PPV.

But Bryan’s forced absence has caused the WWE to give him all the attention and make him a major face right now. While that is good news for Reigns, it has been a momentum killer  for Cesaro who has been affected by Reigns’ leap.

This past week on Raw, Heyman was removed from Cesaro’s side to manage the returning Lesnar, signalling the end of their partnership for now. It cancels the prospect of having a Lesnar- Cesaro feud and certainly means that he is out from the main event plans for now.
