WWE announces big live event to air from Japan, will Lesnar appear?
On tonight’s NXT, General Manager William Regal announced that WWE will air a program live from Japan on July 4th. He also confirmed that a huge NXT Title match featuring champion Kevin Owens taking on his challenger Finn Balor would be on the show.
The match will be broadcast live in WWE Network from Sumo Hall, Tokyo, Japan and would also be a part of the supercard featuring the likes of John Cena, Chris Jericho, Brock Lesnar and others. It is interesting to note that the show airs on a Saturday, which is a bit different for WWE Network Specials. The event begins at 6:30am EST on the Network.
Speaking of Brock Lesnar, it’s noted that there is no word yet if Lesnar will still be facing Kofi Kingston now that the event will be airing live on the network. Lesnar earlier was slated to return and was booked to face Kofi Kingston in the event. If he does, it will be the first time Lesnar will wrestle since losing the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 31. We’ll keep you updated regarding Lesnar’s return.
Watch how things unfolded when Rollins denied Lesnar his title shot on post-Wrestlemania Raw which ultimately led to Brock Lesnar’s indefinite suspension. Check the video below:
