WWE: Road to Summerslam
This past Sunday, we witnessed yet another solid PPV which gained positive response from the fans and critics alike, as Money in the Bank had some memorable moments and good matches.
Now that Money in the Bank PPV is a thing of the past, we move ahead towards our next PPV, which is the biggest party of the summer, Summerslam.
Summerslam is considered to be one of the major PPVs of the year, right behind WrestleMania, and hence, WWE usually pulls out all the stops and goes in with major matches and angles around this time of the year. This year will be no different, as some major feuds started this week on RAW, with alliances dissolving and bad blood between former partners reaching a boiling point.
So what are the things we can expect for Summerslam? We’ll get right into the details.
Randy Orton-RVD feud
On Sunday, Orton won the ‘All Stars’ Money in the Bank ladder match, which raised quite a few eyebrows. Orton has been one of the few superstars who had no direction before the PPV, and was involved in pointless feuds.
Also, on Sunday, Rob Van Dam returned to the WWE and with RVD having no one to feud with, this will give Orton a perfect opportunity to turn heel and revisit a past rivalry.
Orton feuded with RVD long ago, and with both the superstars needing a good feud, it makes sense to pit them against each other at Summerslam. This will also result in the much awaited Randy Orton heel turn, which will freshen up his character.
