Rob Van Dam on the benefits of marijuana for athletes

RVD and Randy Orton are both well-known cannabis users

Former WWE Superstar has a reputation of being one of the most easy-going people in the wrestling industry. Another well-known fact about him is his partiality to marijuana. The WWE’s last Hardcore Champion makes no bones about how he enjoys using the herb regularly, according to wrestlinginc.com.

Speaking to the Washington Post for an article about sportspersons extolling the virtues of marijuana as a “workout tool”, RVD said marijuana “thinking good thoughts, because ... in front of millions of people that paid to see you at your best, who expect you to be in action-figure shape and condition on that particular night for that moment, you've got to deliver.”

A number of medical suspensions in multiple promotions have evidently made no mark on RVD, who went on to elaborate that there existed different vintages of marijuana for specific purposes; some for intense physical activity, some to induce what is stereotyped as “classic stoner behavior”.

Speaking like a true connoisseur of cannabis, Rob Van Dam said, “If I want to relax and just chill out, consuming cannabis can help with that. If I want to be active, if I'm going to go work out or have a match, then it can help with that, too."
