WWE/ROH News: Bubba Ray Dudley seemingly announces retirement

Thank
Thank you for everything

What's the story?

Whether you know him as Bubba Ray Dudley or Bully Ray, the man has certainly entertained you throughout his amazing career. The man was a part of one of the most dominant tag teams in pro wrestling history and picked up title belts where ever they went.

Now it looks like Bully Ray could be finally hanging up his boots after an amazing career spanning over 25 years. But ROH Final Battle might have been Bully Ray's actual final battle and he made it a very good one.

In case you didn't know...

At ROH Death Before Dishonor, Bully Ray suffered a pretty bad knock on the head from a table thanks to the Briscoes. The former Dudley Boy's doctor told him his career might be at risk to compete again, but he stuck it out to have one more big match at ROH Final Battle in a New York Streetfight where he teamed with long-time friend Tommy Dreamer against Dem Boys, the Briscoes.

The heart of the matter

Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray put The Briscoes over at Final Battle but it was an incredibly hard-fought contest. During the match, Bully Ray took another bump to the head thanks to a table and he was busted open.

While bleeding profusely throughout the remainder of the match, Bully Ray gave everything he had to The Briscoes but it wasn't enough. Even though he might have lost the contest, his message was sent and he certainly had a lot to be proud of concerning this encounter.

What's next?

Bully Ray will continue to appear on Busted Open Radio and work with his Team 3d Acadamy wrestling school where he and D-Von train people in the art of pro wrestling and prepare them for the life ahead of them if they choose to make the business their life.

After all, there aren't many people who would be better equipped to teach people about pro wrestling than the Dudley Boyz.

There's also a very good chance we'll be seeing the Dudley Boyz wind up in the WWE Hall Of Fame sooner than later.

Author's take

ROH Final Battle was an amazing show and if the New York Streetfight against the Briscoes really is the last time we'll see Bully compete, then at least he left it all in the middle of the ring with blood, sweat, and broken tables.
