What’s the story?

Cody Rhodes has responded to a fan’s question on social media, regarding a potential WWE return.

Addressing speculation as to whether or not he’d ever consider returning to the WWE, Cody asserted that he had a great time in WWE, and is at a great place right now; looking forward to the most important year in his career—

In case you didn’t know…

Following a career spanning about a decade in the WWE, Cody Rhodes parted ways with the WWE last year.

Following which, Cody went on to accomplish a few notable distinctions in his professional wrestling career, till date. Having previously competed at Wrestlemania, Cody also performed at Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory (BFG), ROH Final Battle and NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom.

The heart of the matter

Apparently, a certain fan probed Cody Rhodes about whether the latter’s WWE comeback would be nothing more than a dream at this stage; adding that Cody was considerably underused during his time with the WWE.

Cody got wind of the same and reverted back; expressing his gratitude towards WWE, explaining that he had a great run in the WWE, met his wife (Brandi), made the Wrestlemania walk several times, got to witness his father Dusty Rhodes’ last elbow, won multiple titles and made millions of dollars.

Furthermore, Cody emphasized that presently he’s happy where he’s at and where he’s going; adding that 2018 is set to be the most important year of his career.

What’s next?

Cody recently dropped the ROH Championship to Dalton Castle, and apart from the former’s Bullet Club adventures, Cody will also look to regain the prestigious title back around his waist in the days to come.

Author’s take

Cody Rhodes was one of the more technical performers on the WWE roster, but his character never got the chance to shine.

Regardless, he seems to be satisfied with the current trajectory of his pro-wrestling career, and should he come back to the WWE, there’ll several stronger, slicker Superstars in the shark tank that is the ever-evolving WWE roster.
