WWE: Roman Reigns and female UFC champion Ronda Rousey engage in conversation about joining The Shield

Will Rousey become the new member of The Shield?

After Seth Rollins turned against The Shield to join Evolution, Roman Reigns was asked by a fan on Twitter whether he thinks UFC Woman’s Champion Ronda Rousey can fill the void by becoming a member of The Shield.

Reigns tweeted in reply that the undefeated Women's Bantamweight Champion could be a good fit for the faction.

After seeing this tweet, Rousey was quiet surprised. The Olympic Bronze medallist in Judo holds a 9-0 win record in MMA and is regarded as one of the greatest women’s MMA fighter. She has followed in the footsteps of ex-female UFC champion, Gina Carano, landing roles in big budget movies like The Expendables 3, Fast & The Furious 7 and Entourage.

It is no secret that Rousey has been a huge WWE fan. She regularly tweets about the WWE and recently welcomed WWE diva Natalya to train with her as well as her “Four Horsewomen” friends Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke.

Rousey regarded CM Punk as her favourite wrestler. After Punk departed from the company, she has moved on to talking about The Shield as her favourite, leading to speculations that she may join The Shield.

Previously, Rousey had expressed an interest in the WWE.  In return, WWE has also shown its interest in having her at this year's SummerSlam pay-per-view.

Rousey expressed her surprise by replying to Reigns’ tweet about her after which the two engaged in a conversation.
