WWE Royal Rumble 2019: 5 reasons why Finn Balor will defeat Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship

Is it Balor's time?
Is it Balor's time?

You're probably thinking: There's no possible way that Finn Balor will defeat Brock Lesnar. High chance is that you're probably right. But in the world of wrestling, never say never. Funnily enough, the last two great matches that Brock Lesnar had in recent times happened to be against two smaller opponents - AJ Styles in 2017 and Daniel Bryan in 2018.

The good part was that Lesnar really sold for them. It also wasn't his generic quick squash match as many predicted it would be. While there is a possibility of it being a squash match, you can probably expect a similar effort from Finn Balor, taking Lesnar to his limits.

Either way, as unbelievable as it may sound, we're going to make a case as to why Finn Balor will beat Brock Lesnar and reclaim the Universal Championship. This would make him the second two-time Universal Champion after Lesnar himself.

Don't believe us? Here are our reasons.

#5 Brock Lesnar is returning to UFC

After Jon Jones' triumphant return at the end of 2018, he called out Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier. Remember that Cormier had a confrontation with Brock Lesnar at UFC 226 after winning the championship.

He had an easy title defence in between, and it seems like rather than avenging his loss to Jones, he wants to take the Brock Lesnar fight. Who can blame him? He has maybe one fight left in his career and he probably wants that big Lesnar payday. He certainly deserves it, and it could be happening sooner than we think.

Moreover, Jon Jones already has an opponent scheduled in for March, so the Lesnar-Cormier fight is looking more and more likely. With Lesnar choosing to focus on the UFC Heavyweight title, he may very well drop the title and ride off into the sunset.
