WWE Rumor Mill: Erick Rowan injury update
What's the story?
The Bludgeon Brothers' reign of dominance came to an end back in August after Erick Rowan suffered a torn bicep, requiring him to take time out for surgery and we haven't seen him - and rarely his partner Luke Harper - ever since.
However, that all looks like changing with the news that Rowan has indeed reported to the Performance Center ahead of a return to the squared circle, PW Insider has today reported.
In case you didn't know...
Erick Rowan signed for WWE in 2011, and quickly aligned with Luke Harper. The pair would wrestle in developmental promotion FCW before becoming the "first and second sons" of Bray Wyatt and two integral parts of The Wyatt Family.
Harper and Rowan successfully won the NXT Tag Team Championships upon moving to the yellow brand and, after a dominant main roster run in the Wyatt Family, Harper and Rowan would be reunited and repacked as the Bludgeon Brothers after a lengthy lay-off for Rowan.
The Bludgeon Brothers capped off a monumental run that would see them squash WWE tag teams and enhancement talent alike before defeating The Usos and The New Day in a Triple Threat Tag Team Championship match and WrestleMania 34 to capture the gold, holding the titles with dominance until Rowan suffered a bicep tear at WWE SummerSlam - with the team dropping the Tag Team Championships on the following SmackDown before Rowan took leave to undergo surgery.
The heart of the matter
PW Insider have today confirmed that former WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champion Erick Rowan was at the WWE Performance Center yesterday in Orlando, Florida, working towards being cleared from the bicep tear that required surgery in August 2018.
