From the WWE Rumor Mill: Samoa Joe could return from injuries for WWE UK & Ireland tour in November
What's the story?
Samoa Joe has been missing from the WWE after picking up an injury during a live event, and his road to recovery is heading towards its end as the “Samoan Submission Machine” is expected to make a return in the upcoming weeks.
In case you didn't know...
Joe had been a great push before he picked up an injury during a WWE Live Event when facing John Cena. The former NXT champion also faced Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal title at the Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view but lost out to “The Beast”.
The heart of the matter
Joe was speaking to Sky Sports about his recovery from a couple of surgeries and even added that he was not wrestling at 100% when he was given the push to join the RAW brand.
"The recovery's going really well but I've only been able to perform at about 80 per cent capacity since joining NXT.
"Back then I had no chance to take time off because of the WWE opportunity, before I was just treating the knee problem with ice and elevation at home.”
Joe also said that he needed nasal surgery and is in the best condition of his life.
"Now it's the best I've ever felt, it really is. I also needed nasal surgery as I've broken my nose about eight times in my career so I was only breathing at around 60 per cent. You have no idea how invigorating it is now."
What's next?
There is no official timeline for the 38-year-old to return to the ring but the report claims that Joe would be back of the WWE tour which will hit the UK and Ireland in November.
Author's take
Joe has always been a solid performer in the ring right from his indie days and it isn’t a surprise that he rose up the WWE ladder.
“The Samoan Submission Machine” didn’t really look injured during his run to the championship bout against Lesnar and hopefully, he will be back stronger and fitter than ever.
There weren’t many superstars that took the fight to Lesnar during his current reign as champion in the WWE but Joe showed otherwise and it will be a treat to watch him back in the ring again.
