What's the story?

Monday Night Raw was invaded by SmackDown Live last night, but according to a report from PWInsider, their Commissioner was originally scheduled to be part of the segment.

In case you didn't know...

It's Survivor Series season, which means that security has to be on the lookout for potential invasions since last year Shane McMahon helped his brand to make a statement on Raw. McMahon then went on to wrestle as part of the match but his team was unable to defeat a team that included both Braun Strowman and Triple H.

There have been recent reports that state that there will be no more overrun of Monday Night Raw either and the company will be forced to stick to their three-hour slot, which could mean a number of angles will be removed in the future to ensure the show makes time.

The heart of the matter

Mike Johnson of PWInsider recently confirmed that SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon was originally scheduled to invade Monday Night Raw with his brand but for some reason, he didn't travel to Kansas City and wasn't backstage at Raw.

“The original plan was for Shane McMahon to be at the show tonight and at some point they changed the creative. Shane was not there. He was not backstage. But at one point he was written in to appear on last night’s Raw," he said via Ringsidenews.

What's next?

SmackDown Live tonight should see Shane McMahon presenting the final build towards one of the company's biggest shows of the year as he prepares to fight on behalf of his brand once more this weekend.
