WWE Rumor: Women's storyline reportedly scrapped for the foreseeable future
What's the story?
Ronda Rousey defeated Sasha Banks back at The Royal Rumble on Sunday night before The Boss held up The Four Horsewomen pose and seemingly triggered the next rivalry for the two women, but now there seems to have been a U-turn.
In case you didn't know...
WWE has been teasing The Four Horsewomen feud for the past few years, ever since Ronda Rousey, Jessamyn Duke, Marina Shafir, and Shayna Baszler started to make an impact on the wrestling business.
Of course, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte Flair are The Four Horsewomen of WWE, and have been teasing a showdown with their MMA foes over control of the name for months.
The heart of the matter
Despite Banks dropping a huge hint when it comes to future storylines for the women, Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer recently revealed that there are no plans for this feud to happen ahead of this year's WrestleMania.
“Ronda actually cut a promo about the Horsewomen vs Horsewomen match. It was actually a good promo too. Right now as far as between now and WrestleMania there is no plans for that. It can change, but there’s nothing now you know so I had asked specifically.”
“I said, ‘it looks like they’re going that direction’ and Sasha really, really wants that especially and Ronda’s not opposed to it. You know those are her real friends, but it’s not in the cards the next two pay-per-views right now. It can change, but anyway,” he said via Ringsidenews.
What's next?
It's already been decided that Becky Lynch will take on Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women's Championship at WrestleMania, but tonight's SmackDown Live could determine Charlotte Flair's future if she decides to challenge for the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania instead.
