WWE Rumors: Backstage news on Seth Rollins' future with new heel character
There has been a lot of talk surrounding Seth Rollins' creative direction. Is the Beastslayer now a heel? Well, it's pretty complicated.
Seth Rollins' new character was brought up on the latest edition of Sportskeeda's Dropkick DiSKussions with Tom Colohue and Korey Gunz.
As reported by Colohue earlier, the situation backstage regarding Rollins' character is quite complicated. A source told Colohue, "The impression I get is that his storyline requires a heel but long term there is freedom to compete with either side of the spectrum."
Tom revealed that we could see Rollins compete as a heel in some feuds while also working as a babyface in other programmes down the line, which would be similar to Roman Reigns' infamous run from a few years ago.
Colohue explained:
"I’m not entirely sure it’s a full heel turn, anybody I’ve spoken to and asked about this has been quite clear that it’s complicated. That we may see Seth be a heel in one feud, and a face in another feud, much like Roman Reigns has been. Like he was a heel against AJ Styles and then he was a face against Seth Rollins for a brief time and back after he beat Triple H at WrestleMania 32. So I wouldn’t call it a full-fledged heel turn but there are certainly a lot of heel elements and Seth himself is definitely playing up to it including with the way he has been challenging CM Punk."
The most recent episode of RAW saw Seth Rollins unleash a verbal assault on the RAW roster. While his promo made him look like a heel, the former Universal Champion would wrestle Kevin Owens as a face later on in the night.
A possible alliance with the Authors of Pain was also teased as the show came to a close.
Despite being a babyface, Seth Rollins has been heavily booed in the past few months and a heel turn seemed inevitable. However, by the looks of it, Rollins is actually turning into Roman Reigns 2.0.
