WWE Rumors: Batista rejects AEW's offer; set to face 5-time Intercontinental Champion at WrestleMania?
What's the story?
While there were rumors floating around that Batista is in talks with AEW and might sign with the upcoming promotion, these rumors have been quashed by Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The observer has reported (via Cagesideseats.com) that Dave Bautista isn’t interested in wrestling for anyone but WWE.
They have further stated that it is still possible that a match between him and former 5-time Intercontinental Champion Triple H might still happen at Wrestlemania.
In case you didn't know...
Batista made his last appearance for WWE on the 1000th episode of Smackdown as part of the Evolution reunion.
Evolution was a stable consisting of Triple H, Batista, Ric Flair and Randy Orton that practically ruled RAW during the mid-2000s.
However, the reunion did not go as smoothly as was hoped as The Animal took a dig at Triple H angering The Game resulting in a face-off between both former WWE Champions.
It was believed that this would result in a match between the two at WrestleMania, which has gotten jeopardized due to Triple H suffering a pectoral injury at the Crown Jewel event in November 2018.
The heart of the matter
There were reports stating that Triple H might not be cleared to wrestle by the time WrestleMania 35 comes around. However, it looks like The Game might just be healed enough to make his comeback for the Grandest Stage of Them All.
A match between Batista and Triple H has been on the cards for a long time as Batista is one mountain Triple H has failed to conquer, and it will be interesting to see if Triple H can finally defeat Batista or not.
What's next?
WrestleMania 35 will take place on April 7, 2019, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
