WWE Rumors: WWE high on Braun Strowman and have big plans for him going forward
What’s the story?
According to Wrestling News World, WWE is planning to push Braun Strowman as a challenger for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Universal championship.
In case you didn’t know...
Before making his way into WWE, Braun Strowman had an impressive Strongman career. He won the NAS US Amateur National Championship back in 2011, which in turn earned him a Strong Man Corporation professional card.
Strowman won the Arnold Amateur Strongman championship in the following year as well. Thanks to this win, Strowman got an invite to the Arnold Strongman classic in 2013, the same year he signed with WWE.

The heart of the matter
The rumour suggests that WWE is really happy with how Strowman is currently performing. His recent angle with Roman Reigns on Monday Night Raw, in particular, has impressed many officials backstage. This could lead to him getting a shot at the WWE Universal championship, which is currently held by Brock Lesnar.
The report notes that Strowman will challenge Lesnar sometime in June or July. There is also a strong chance of Strowman defeating Roman Reigns at Payback.
What’s next?
Strowman has shown some tremendous improvement over the past few months. The 'Monster Among Men' and the Beast Incarnate had a stare down on the Raw that followed WrestleMania and it won't be surprising if WWE book these two in a match soon.
Strowman defeating Roman Reigns at Payback is also possible since Reigns got the upper hand when these two met last time at Fastlane.
Author’s take
WWE’s love for Strowman is no secret as the only damage he took was at the hands of Reigns – the man who’s even more loved backstage. WWE could rectify this at Payback if they let Strowman get a clean win over the Samoan Superman.
Coming to the Lesnar vs. Strowman possibility, it is beneficial for both superstars on the long run. The feud will help Strowman’s career to reach new heights as Lesnar guarantees mainstream attention. As for Lesnar, he needs credible title defences on his resume if he is to keep the title around his waist till WrestleMania 34 and Strowman provides an opportunity for this.
