WWE Rumors: Big Show was upset at how the Andre Battle Royal played out at WrestleMania
What’s the story?
Wrestling News Source has reported that Big Show was angry at a certain aspect of the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 this past weekend. On the latest edition of Sean Waltman’s (X-Pac) podcast, he thinks it has to do with Show’s moment with Braun Strowman getting cut short.
In case you didn’t know...
Big Show was originally scheduled to face NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal at WrestleMania 33. A face-to-face confrontation at last year’s same battle royal kickstarted the feud.
Unfortunately, due to unknown reasons, the match never happened. Speculation was that Shaq wanted more money than what was offered, but there was no concrete reasoning as to why it never happened.
The heart of the matter
The Big Show and Braun Strowman were heavy favourites to win the battle royal but faced elimination rather quickly. After the epic match they had on Monday Night Raw last month, Big Show clearly wanted to build on that and have another memorable moment at WrestleMania.
What’s next?
It is uncertain when we will see the Big Show next as he is probably in the final year of his career and is only appearing part-time now. He was absent from the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania, but you can expect him to take part in feuds to help the younger talent sometime down the road.
Author’s take
I picked the Big Show to win the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. My prediction was a result of the failed attempt to have a match with Shaq. Winning the battle royal would be the reward for Big Show who worked really hard to get in the best shape he’s been in years.
Unfortunately, it was a pretty lacklustre WrestleMania weekend for the “World’s Largest Athlete”. Hopefully, there is a chance for Big Show to end his career with some memorable moments.
