WWE Rumors: WWE concerned about 205 Live's success
According to All Wrestling News, there is some concern over 205 Live. WWE is under the impression that if it doesn’t put on a match after 205 Live featuring the top superstars on Smackdown Live, many fans may leave early, which could very well make the arena appear empty on the screen.
The concern may very well also stem from the fact that on Monday Night Raw, The Cruiserweights have gotten very little reaction overall. During its tenure, the Cruiserweight Classic was the hot topic and the most watched show on the WWE Network, even overtaking NXT. This led to a great deal of disappointment by the fans in the way they were handled on Raw.
The main event of 205 Live's first episode will be Cruiserweight Champion The Brian Kendrick putting his title on the line against Rich Swann. Swann has two pinfalls over Kendrick, one in a singles match, and the other in Glasgow in a tag team match where he teamed with former Cruiserweight Champion, TJ Perkins against Kendrick and Noam Dar.
Some of the expected names scheduled for 205 Live include Akira Tozawa, Jack Gallagher, Noam Dar, HoHo Lun, The Bollywood Boyz (Gurv and Harv Sihra), Cedrick Alexander, and Lince Dorado, among others.
205 Live could be WWE’s chance at renewing the Cruiserweights and showing a good portion of the audience their true potential. We saw the real potential that the Cruiserweights have in the Cruiserweight Classic Tournament. Since 205 Live is airing on the Network, there is a much higher chance of more creative freedom and redeeming the Cruiserweight Division.
It is rumoured that names such as Jack Gallagher, Akira Tozawa and Rich Swann, among others are expected to get pushed on 205 Live.
