WWE Rumors: Finn Balor's next feud potentially unveiled

Wyatt and Balor might be involved in a feud soon

What’s the story?

Now that Finn Balor is both, back on Raw and having quickly recovered (hopefully) from a concussion he suffered last week, speculation abounds as to what Creative has planned for the former WWE Universal Champion. According to Dave Meltzer, there are actually a couple of plans for him.

In case you didn’t know...

Following last year’s brand split, Balor was called up to the main roster and immediately shot to the top of the card, taking on Seth Rollins at SummerSlam for the newly minted Universal Championship.

As we all remember, of course, Balor was injured during that match and was forced to relinquish the title the next night. He then would spend the next half of a year on the shelf.

The heart of the story

Now that he’s back and has had a handful of matches under his belt, the obvious question is “what now?”

Well, according to Meltzer (and from we saw after Balor’s concussion causing match), it looks like Finn is set for a program with Bray Wyatt, once Wyatt’s feud with Randy Orton finishes up.

Getting a chance at recovering the title he never lost in the first place isn’t out of the question either, as Meltzer stated he could be back in the title picture once current champ Brock Lesnar has his match with Braun Strowman.

What’s next?

Finn Balor will now engage in a program with Wyatt after the Eater of Worlds faces Randy Orton at Payback for the WWE Championship.

Author’s take

It’s great seeing Finn back in the ring after all these months but, to quote Corey Graves, a feud between him and Bray Wyatt “does nothing for me.” I’m sure matches between the two will be very good, of course, but after seeing Finn grab Raw’s top prize last summer, it feels like anything short of that is just a major step back.

However, I am intrigued by the potential of a Balor/Lesnar match – although, WWE has been building up Strowman as a monster so much, that I wouldn’t be surprised if he snags the title from Lesnar first. Of course, this is all contingent on Balor actually staying healthy
