What's the story?

As per the Rumor Roundup on Cagesideseats.com, John Cena is still expected to have a match at Wrestlemania, however, WWE has not yet decided on the opponent.

It will be interesting to see who will be facing The Champ at the Grandest Stage of Them All.

In case you didn't know...

John Cena is a former 16-time WWE Champion. Although hailed as The Greatest of All Time, Cena has taken a more part-time role with WWE as of now focusing more on his Hollywood career.

John Cena was last seen on the 1st January edition of SmackDown where he competed in a Mixed Tag Team match against Andrade Almas and Zelina Vega along with his Tag Team partner Becky Lynch.

The Man and The Champ even got into somewhat of an altercation after the match was over.

The heart of the matter

John Cena is always one of the main attractions whenever he is featured on the card. While there is speculation that we might see Cena have a Wrestlemania 34 rematch with The Undertaker, the chances of that happening look bleak with The Undertaker's future with WWE looking dicey.

The 41-year-old should be facing an upcoming talent who could get a rub from John Cena. Someone like Drew McIntyre would be a great option to be the opponent of The Champ at Wrestlemania. Not only will it help establish the Scottish Psychopath as a legitimate threat, but a win over Cena at The Grand Stage would help create a new Superstar for the WWE.

Another great option would be John Cena vs Roman Reigns if The Big Dog is medically cleared to wrestle by Wrestlemania.

What's next?

Wrestlemania 35 will take place on April 7, 2019 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. It will be interesting to see who will get the opportunity of a lifetime to face John Cena.
