WWE Rumors: John Cena's WWE return date revealed?
What's the story?
One of the big questions in the minds of many members of the WWE Universe heading into WrestleMania is what role, if any, will John Cena play on April 7th? According to a recent report from RingsideNews, we now have a better idea regarding a possible return date for John Cena.
In case you didn't know...
John Cena returned to both WWE RAW and SmackDown in early 2019 and was slated to be an entrant in the 2019 men's WWE Royal Rumble match. At this time there were also rumors that WWE had big plans for Lars Sullivan, who was still slate for his main roster debut at that point. The plans reportedly were to have Lars either attack Cena backstage and injure him, taking him out of the Royal Rumble, or to have Lars quickly eliminate Cena from the Rumble match.
However, as we reported earlier, Lars Sullivan suffered from a nervous breakdown backstage ahead of his main roster debut and WWE then allowed him to fly home to take some time off. The storyline got postponed and Cena was written out of the men's Royal Rumble match with a reported ankle injury.

The heart of the matter
John Cena is currently in Canada shooting for his upcoming film 'Playing With Fire'. According to a report from RingsideNews, Cena will begin shooting for another project right after shooting for Playing With Fire ends, meaning that his dates are booked till 1st April which is also the date of the go-home episode of WWE RAW ahead of WrestleMania.
John Cena could still have a part to play at WrestleMania but with WWE probably not having time for a proper storyline, it will be something on the lines of a surprise appearance.
What's next?
It looks like John Cena will not be returning to WWE before April 2019.
