WWE Rumors: Major update on Rey Mysterio's injury status
What's the story?
With Rey Mysterio reportedly injured at Money In The Bank, WWE has moved quickly to schedule a segment for next week's RAW where the status of the Greatest Mask of All Time's United States Championship will be addressed.
With rumours rife that Rey may be about to relinquish the title, there's been an update - with Rey Mysterio being spotted in Birmingham, Alabama, where he'll, at the very least, be assessed by WWE's medical professionals.
In case you didn't know…
Rey Mysterio returned to WWE last year after several sporadic appearances throughout the year and has since made a huge impact - winning the WWE United States Championship and becoming a Grand Slam Champion.
Mysterio, though, may be nearing the end of his wrestling career, and reportedly wants to lose his mask in WWE, in a match with his son - according to the Gorilla Position podcast.
"Apparently what Rey wants is to pass the mask on. And that’s what he said to WWE that he wants eventually for Dominick to wear the mask. He wants a match with Dominick where he loses and he passes the mask on."
