WWE Rumors: Neville stays in character and roasts a fan after 205 Live

The King of the Cruiserweights stayed true to his heel roots in a recent encounter with a female fan.

What’s the story?

A fan recently posted her encounter with WWE Superstar Neville after the latest taping of 205 Live (4/4/17) on Reddit. According to the fan, Neville who is presently an on-screen heel in WWE, walked up to her after she shouted his name and proceeded to stare her down for a few seconds.

Furthermore, Neville yelled “don’t be stupid” right to her face before walking away.

In case you didn’t know...

Neville (real name- Benjamin Satterley) is the current WWE Cruiserweight champion who recently defended his title at Wrestlemania 33 against pro-wrestling veteran Austin Aries.

The heart of the matter

While most performers in today’s pro-wrestling industry more often than not break their character outside the ring, Neville chose to refrain from breaking kayfabe in order to maintain his image as one of WWE’s top heels.

The woman with whom the British champion had the aforementioned alleged encounter has posted a video on the internet addressing the incident replete with a promo as well:

The incident is said to have taken place after his Fatal 4-Way match at the latest taping of 205 Live.

What’s next?

After successfully defending his Cruiserweight belt against industry veteran Austin Aries, Neville’s rivalry with A-Double is far from over. Look for Neville and Aries to engage in future matchups at RAW and 205 Live for Cruiserweight gold.

Author’s take:

They say kayfabe is dead, but hey, it’s nice to see that top performers such as Neville still honour the code and refrain from breaking character well after their in-ring performances.

As far as the fan and her experience is concerned, that’s what professional wrestling is all about- crazy characters in wild storylines that captivate the imagination of fans, and at times, also engage in cool one-on-one interactions whilst in character with said fans.

Kayfabe Never Die!
