WWE Rumors: No heel turn for Roman Reigns anytime soon
The WWE’s ambition to make Roman Reigns the successor to John Cena seem to have developed a closer correlation than they intended. The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion remains, in principle and like those before him, the poster boy for the company.
But like the previous incarnation of WWE’s Superman, Reigns always performs for a house divided. And that’s exactly why he won’t shed the skin he has now when he does return to action, according to cagesideseats.com.
The report believes that the WWE will keep him a polarizing figure and won’t turn him heel when he returns. Reigns was suspended on June 21st for a Wellness Policy violation. A first time offender, he will have thirty days to clear his head before being reinstated.
There is strong speculation that Reigns was suspended because there were amphetamines found in his system, in addition to marijuana, though the latter carries just a fine. Reigns is still expected to return for the triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on July 24th at Battleground.
If reports are to be believed, Reigns will not regain the title he lost at Money In The Bank, but rather be depicted in a “redemption” storyline where he has to win back the respect he has lost.
